I am searching for a wireless adapter to install in my PC as I will be moving it soon and a wired connection is not possible. I am looking at an expansion card I can insert in motherboard as I don't want a USB one. The adapter i'm looking at is PCI-E(x1) and the free slots I have on my motherboard are a PCI-E(x16) which would run at x8 as i have a GPU in the 1st x16 slot and a x4 slot. Hi, I have a an "inland PCI Express Expansion Card 2-Port USB 3.0" installed onto my motherboard. I reformatted and have a fresh copy of Windows 7 on it. I also have Ubuntu on my other partition. Devices attached to the usb 3 ports were all working before the reformat, and it works on Ubuntu as well. But after my reformat, I installed my drivers and I can't seem to get it working. ACER BINSPIRE 1 D270 netbook...just fitted new HDD and attempted to boot from usb after changing setup boot order ,and got REALTTEK PIEe FE family controller series v1.27 PXE-E61 :media test failure ,check cable .......message ...does this mean the HDD conection is no good or what...as setup recognises a HDD and gives it's identity !!?? So I bought a rosewill 2-port USB 3.0 superspeed PCIe card and a mybook usb 3.0 WD hard drive and got all of them installed today and I am not having the transfer speeds that everyone claims you get. I hooked up the add-in card and plugged it into my power supply and booted up and installed all the necessary drivers for the drive to work. Then I plugged in my usb 3.0 external and updated the firmware on that to the latest version. I am still only getting about 45mbs on transfer. Everyone else is claiming about 127mbs on …
