I'm not an IT pro, but I have been programming computers for scientific and personal applications since about 1964 on a Bendix G-10. I later moved up to the IBM 1620 and the really big (64K memory) machines like the IBM 1620 and 7090 series. Now I'm retired and mostly use computers to control external hardware and interface with my own circuits to control my model railroad.
