Can anyone here help me in knowing the clear concepts and differences between hacking and cracking? most of the web results give blur distinction between hackers and crackers. Can i get some tips on what topics are supposed to be included on this topic "Hacking and Cracking" for a seminar. this seminar is not for professionals, so i just want to cover a detailed idea about the topic instead of handling in depth. suggestion of websites or links wil be appreciated. Thank you!

"Hacking" and "cracking" tend to be very ambiguous, and people will often use them interchangeably. Usually, "cracking" refers to hacking with destructive purposes, whereas a "hacker" is usually referred to as someone who is breaking through a computer security system simply out of curiosity. It's quite a gray area, however.
