Well, we've got nine great entries from our poll nomination thread at [thread]1929[/thread]
Take a look at each one 'n' vote ... ;)
A short, practical checklist to make the selected banner production-ready and easy to reuse across the site and in signatures.
Prepare source and exports. Deliver the editable source (PSD, AI, or an SVG) plus at least two web-ready files: a flattened PNG (for transparency) and a JPEG (for photo-like renders). Also provide a signature-sized variant (keep width ≤ 600px unless a forum has a different limit). For web export, use PNG8 or compressed PNG for simple graphics, JPEG at ~70–85% quality for photos, and aim to keep each file reasonably small for fast loading (under ~100 KB when practicable). Include a short README listing fonts, color values, and any third-party assets or licenses.
Check legibility and accessibility. View the banner at actual display sizes (desktop and the smallest signature size you expect). Make sure text is readable, contrast is strong, and fine strokes survive scaling. Provide concise alt text that credits the designer and describes the image (example below). If you used a web font, either supply the font file with usage rights or convert type to outlines.
Permissions, hosting and embedding. State reuse rules in the README (permitted uses, attribution requests). Host final assets on a reliable server rather than a transient host. If people want to place the banner in signatures, ask the creator first.
Simple HTML snippet to use in a signature (replace filenames and attribution as appropriate):
<img src="banner.png" alt="Banner by @YourName" style="max-width:600px;height:auto;"> Thanks to and contributors such as , , , and for running this thread and testing options.
