For some reason, the CV says I'm from somewhere near Camden. WTF?

Short summary and quick checklist for fixing a wrong town on your CV (as reported by and discussed by and ):

This usually comes from an external source or a cached geolocation rather than a manual edit on DaniWeb. To confirm and correct it without waiting for backend changes, try the steps below.

What to check now:

  • Log into the external CV/account that supplies your CV data and look for editable profile/location fields. Edit or remove any saved town, or disconnect that service if you prefer to control location manually.
  • Edit your DaniWeb profile/CV (if an editor is available) and set a manual location override, then save. Check the page in a private window to rule out browser cache.
  • Clear browser cache and cookies, then reload the CV. If you used a phone or public Wi‑Fi in the past, that past login can show up in IP-based lookups; check the external account's login history/security page for past locations.
  • If nothing changes, ask an admin to force a refresh/reimport of your CV data and include your DaniWeb username and a screenshot for speed.

Sample support message you can copy and paste:

Hi @Dani / support — my CV is showing an incorrect town. Username: @Member#120589. Please can you reimport or clear the location field for my CV, or tell me how to set a manual location? Screenshot attached. Thanks.

Privacy note: review app/location permissions on your phone and any OAuth connections you granted to third-party CV services. IP-based geolocation is often imprecise; if you want a specific town listed, a manual profile field is the most reliable fix.

Reminds me how my smart phone outed where I had lunch one time. That was annoying.

That information is being pulled from Dazah. Still working on making some improvements to Dazah, and the CV information will be improved upon within the next week or so. It's not a matter of just fixing up DaniWeb's use case of it, but a bit of an overhaul to how CVs are handled by Dazah as a whole.

Don't worry, I'm from Haarlem, North-Holland :D

Is it possible you logged into Dazah from Camden once upon a time?

It is possible. They do let me out for good behaviour sometimes :) But it would have been over a year ago - Oct '15 possibly.

Sounds about right. Ok, I know what I need to do to fix it.
