I recently bought a compal not a compaq notebook at a local pawn shop and windows xp professional would not let me into windows so i tried to wipe the hard drive so i could reinstall windows but the tech who setup the computer locked everything down so now i need the bios reset. i opened the notebook and could not find a battery or a jumper. The notebook looks to be no more then two years old so i dunno if the memory is stored in a flash or if its battery back? Can anyone offer suggestions? Can i drain the bios battery with an LED?

Have u tried to find a reset button and it has to have a battery within the laptop.
