Hi, I’m a freelance reporter working on a story for Wired Magazine about a payment processor that has gone by the names Totaltrans, W-pay, Cpipay, Cp2pay, Commercepay, SCS Offshore, Commercecoinz, Simple Software, Psobill, International Payment Consultants (Ipcpay), and Nordfin, among others.

If you’ve ever had any experiences with this processor, please contact me. I've posted a short bio about me on my member profile. You can reach me at <email snipped>

Thanks for your help,
Will Evans

Several people in this thread (notably looking into the matter, and and reporting unexpected debits) describe the same pattern: transactions showing up under different merchant names. The practical priority for anyone seeing an unexpected debit is containment and documentation. The faster the bank or card issuer is contacted, the better the chance of a reversal.

Immediate, practical steps:

  • Preserve everything: save the bank statement line with the merchant descriptor, take dated screenshots of any landing pages or emails, note phone numbers, and archive pages with the Wayback Machine.
  • Call the bank or card issuer right away: request a dispute/chargeback or an electronic-funds investigation, get a case/reference number, and ask for provisional credit in writing. If it’s a recurring charge, request an immediate stop.
  • If fraud is suspected, close the affected card/account and get a new number. Keep copies of all communications and follow up in writing.
  • File complaints so patterns are tracked: report to IC3, the FTC, the CFPB, and the BBB. Local law enforcement may require a police report for larger losses.

For : ask respondents to provide the exact merchant descriptor text from their statements, timestamps, archived landing-page URLs, phone numbers shown, and the bank’s investigation reference. Those items let you link multiple complaints to the same processor or acquirer and make it easier for banks and regulators to act.

Cautions: timelines and remedies vary by payment type and country, so act quickly, keep records, and don’t give additional financial information to unverified merchants.

Hi, i recently responded to the Google Money 'scam' going around, and found my bank account was debited by (instead of EZ Net Income as advised) for the amount stipulated. I'm still within the 10 days and am not expecting to be sent my 'kit', but though i'd respond to your thread all the same. Kind Regards, JTC
