Hello,

Do you know any websites that give you a list of directories to submit your site?

Thanks!

A quick reality check and a compact workflow to make directory submissions actually useful. Replies here (for example , , and ) point to lists and automated tools. Those lists can be a start, but directory landscape changes fast. Prioritize a quality-first approach over mass submission.

Vet a directory before submitting:

  • Editorial control: directories with human review are far less likely to be spammy.
  • Relevance: niche or local directories yield more targeted traffic and better citation value.
  • Transparency: visible contact info, clear pricing and terms are good signs.
  • Link quality: check whether listings are isolated links or part of link farms; avoid obvious link-exchange schemes.
  • Business data support: for local businesses, the directory should store Name/Address/Phone consistently.

A simple submission workflow that scales:

  1. Prepare: one concise title and two unique descriptions (short + medium). Keep NAP consistent for local listings.
  2. Pick and prioritize directories by relevance and editorial quality.
  3. Submit manually, choosing the best-fitting category and avoiding keyword stuffing.
  4. Record everything in a tracker (see sample columns below).
  5. Verify (email or on-site confirmation) and note the exact link returned.

Watch and maintain: monitor indexation and referral traffic, review backlink quality periodically, and avoid bulk automated submission services that promise fast results. If many low-quality links appear later, consider cleanup steps. Use the lists mentioned in the thread only as a starting pool; apply the vetting checklist above and favor directories that add real, relevant visibility rather than sheer link count.
