I agree with this, being certified in Photoshop is sort of a joke in my opinion. If you can produce amazing stuff in Photoshop, no one company will care if you are certified from Adobe in Photoshop.

Save yourself the hassle and just start following tutorials and NOT following tutorials, and just start creating stuff. Get a portfolio going that you can show off and you will be on your way.
