I have an HP mx703 monitor, approximately 5 years old. Recently, I've been having an on again/off again problem when turning on my computer (also 5 years old) whether from sleep mode or shut-down mode. Everything starts up, but the monitor will sometimes have no picture. It is getting power because the blue power light comes on.
I started it this morning and everything worked fine. When I came back later, I couldn't get a picture. It eventually popped on after I turned the power button off and on a few times.
The Geek Squad at Best Buy told me that monitors don't usually go bad (huh?), but I'm wondering if the fickleness of my monitor is a warning to scrap it all and upgrade.
Thanks.
