When i try to boot up a message shows hard disk ###########595b the system primary HDD is protected by a password authentcation system. you cannot access data on this hard drive without the correct password. i dont know what the password is. then a ran a test and it says Dst short test fail error code 1000-0141. ieven tried to run a xp bootable disc and it says setup did not find any hard disks installed in your computer. Please help me try to fix my problem the computer is a dell latitude 505 and the hard drive is a hitachi travelstar model#hts424030m9at00

You really need the password or to contact the vendor of the system and verify ownership of the system and they can direct you to a service center to have it reset. Without the password the harddrive controller on the drive is disabled.
