I've got a 256MB ATI Radeon 9550 on a Gigabyte GA-K8U-939 mobo, and when I set the AGP (to either 4X or 8X) it reverts back to "OFF". In the BIOS, the AGP 3.0 Trandfer Mode is at 1X/4X/8X. I've tried to find the "hidden" settings in the BIOS by pressing Ctrl+F1 as stated in the mobo manual and on various forums, but I don't get any additional options when I try it. If anyone has had or heard of similar problems and knows what it might be, I would welcome any suggestions as I'm at a loss.
