As long as you have Kazaa it will continue to create problems. The first thing you should do is go to Add/Remove Programs in the Control Panel and remove it. Then run Kazaabegone from here to clear out the remnants:

thanks dlh6213,
I removed kazza. I also have abc bittorrent and removed it as well. Here is the new hijackthis log

please help

...I removed kazza. I also have abc bittorrent and removed it as well...

GREAT! :)

Here are a few things you can do to get started.

Open Task Manager and end the process for t?skmgr.exe, if it's running.

Do you have BargainBuddy installed on your system? If so, you should go to Add/Remove Programs in the Control Panel and remove it.

Close all windows, scan with HJT, and have it fix the following entries:
O2 - BHO: twaintecObj Class - {000020DD-C72E-4113-AF77-DD56626C6C42} - C:\WINDOWS\twaintec.dll
O2 - BHO: (no name) - {37D8372D-C437-7895-8624-65550BF02A45} - C:\WINDOWS\System32\bukfm.dll
O2 - BHO: NLS UrlCatcher Class - {AEECBFDA-12FA-4881-BDCE-8C3E1CE4B344} - C:\WINDOWS\System32\nvms.dll
O2 - BHO: CB UrlCatcher Class - {CE188402-6EE7-4022-8868-AB25173A3E14} - C:\WINDOWS\System32\mscb.dll
O2 - BHO: Url Catcher - {CE31A1F7-3D90-4874-8FBE-A5D97F8BC8F1} - C:\WINDOWS\System32\apuc.dll
O2 - BHO: ADP UrlCatcher Class - {F4E04583-354E-4076-BE7D-ED6A80FD66DA} - C:\WINDOWS\System32\msbe.dll
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [Microsoft Update Machine] winupdt.exe
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [Yvai] C:\WINDOWS\System32\t?skmgr.exe

Make sure you can see Hidden Files and Folders. Reboot into Safe Mode.
Go to C:\WINDOWS\System32 and delete t?skmgr.exe (if found).
Go to C:\WINDOWS and delete twaintec.dll (if found).

O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [Aths] C:\Documents and Settings\Alexander Chang\Application Data\osen.exe <-- See what you can find out about this one.

Reboot normally. To help prevent future problems, get SpywareBlaster:
http://www.javacoolsoftware.com/spywareblaster.html

Close all windows, scan with HJT, and post a new log along with anything you found out about osen.exe.

hi thanks alot,

I couldn't find t?skmgr.exe or twaintec.dll but i see 2 taskmgr.exe that seems weird. one has an fmc icon dated 10/06/2004 the other is just a computer icon with a green line on it like a chart 7/11/2003. oh yeah the one with the fmc has no identity or info.
I tried searching for osen.exe but i guess i already removed it. should i delete that entry too. you have been a great help so far.

i did a file search on osen.exe but came up showing nothing than i check straight from the source. the osen.exe file is hidden created dated 7/27/2004 but has no other info on it. i guess i should delete it as well. oh something else is fishy in the taskmanger i see iexplorer and some other program doubling up ati2evxx.exe.

Can you post a fresh log please?

sure here it is. i didn't remove the files in question above because i don't know if they are important.

I personally would have HJT fix this, as I'm 99% sure it shouldn't be there:

O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [Aths] C:\Documents and Settings\Alexander Chang\Application Data\osen.exe

Use your own judgement though- this is your system we're working on, not mine.

Other than that, the log is clean. If you're still experiencing problems, the causes could be elsewhere (that is, not spyware-related).

ok, but what about in system 32 taskmgr.exe there is 2 of them should one of them be removed as well

should i remove osen.exe after i use hijackthis to remove because i still see it in the files hidden

...i see iexplorer and some other program doubling up ati2evxx.exe.

Having multiple instances of some processes listed in Task Manager is normal. The ati2evxx.exe program, which is related to your ATI video card, is one such process; you'll also notice that your HJT log shows two instances of svchost.exe running, which is also normal.

HJT doesn't show any "suspicious" duplicates; is Task Manager showing you anything else that you're concerned about?

should i remove osen.exe after i use hijackthis to remove because i still see it in the files hidden

Yes, good catch-

Any files in HJT's "04" category that you have HJT fix must be manually delted afterward. HJT only removes the registry entry which auto-starts the progrmas, but it does not delete the program files themselves.

thanks alot so for taskmgr.exe i see 2 of them in the sytem32 filefolder one seems fine but the othe has an icon with 3 square with letters fmc on it,it has no identity or info and it was created 10/06/2004. last question i should remove osen.exe in safe mode right.

hi one more thing i have lavasoft adware running and when i use it to scan the files a virus of trojandownloader.funweb.Atrojan comes up in f3setup1.exe file in my temp folder any solution to clean that up

Clear out your Temporary internet files and other temp files.
Go to Start > Settings > Control Panel >Internet Options.

Under the General tab click the Delete temporary internet files,
delete all Offline content as well. Clear out Cookies.

Also, go to Start > Find/search > Files or folders > in the named box, type: *.tmp and choose Edit > select all -> File > delete.

Empty/delete the entire contents of the C:\Windows\temp folder and C:\temp folder, if you have one. (Contents but not the folder itself.)

This one too if Win2K or XP.
C:\Documents and Settings\username\Local Settings\Temp\

In order to view these files you may have to select 'show hidden files/folders.' Instructions on how to here.

Empty the Recycle Bin.

You can try to delete osen.exe in Normal Mode, but if it won't let you, or comes back, then do it in Safe Mode.

I can't answer your question about taskmgr/fmc, anyone else have an answer?
