Why can't i access Microsoft, download.com and sun?

hello, my first thread here. wanted 2 know why can't i access the major sites?

may be you windows version is not original and cracked
try to get another one

that wouldnt block him from sun and download.com

its most likely either a) a problem with your DNS server, b) some sort of virus.

B is the most likely, ive seen ones before that stop you from going onto antivirus websites and microsoft.

Download HijackThis Executable from here. Save it to your desktop.
Start HJT & press the "Do a system scan and save a log file" button. When the scan is finished a window will pop up giving you the option of where to save it. Save it to desktop where it is easy to access. Open the log file and then go to the format Tab and make sure that wordwrap is unchecked. Copy the entire contents of the file & paste it into the body of your post. DO NOT FIX ANYTHING YET. Most of what is there is necessary for the running of your system.

Can you please do the following.

Can you disable Windows Defender as it may interfere with the removal process. Please leave it disabled until your PC has been given the all clear.

Open Windows Defender
Click Tools
Click General Settings
Scroll down to Real Time Protection Options
Uncheck Turn on Real Time Protection (recommended)
After you uncheck this, click on the Save button
Close Windows Defender

Download Dial-a-Fix and run it. Select the 'Check all' (green arrow) and then hit 'GO.'
Reboot when done and see how things are now.

If you are familiar with the system try this:
Open Command Prompt (type 'cmd' in 'Run')

'127.0.0.1 www.microsoft.com' or
'127.0.0.1 www.download.com' or
'127.0.0.1 X'
where X=any site you can't access but wan't to..
If yes then erase it and save the file, be sure not to screw up anything else..If u are unable to save then manually go the the file(hosts) location and by right-clicking on it select 'properties' and deselect 'Read-Only'...should work if a virus had entered the names in there..

I ran Sbybot S&D, shows nothing and currently using Kaspersky Internet Security 2009, shows nothing!

If you are familiar with the system try this:

Now, youtube is also blocked! When i log out of Yahoo! the browser does not redirect me to the Yahoo! home page but instead shows loading... albeit I am logged out!!! HELP!!!!:@

Nothing happened! For your info, i use Firefox 3.0.8. Have one laptop and one PC. Both are unable to access the sites.. Now, i was thinking it must be a DNS error. How to repair if it is so?

What do you mean "nothing happened?" What didn't happen? I gave three different directions there, so a little more info would be good.

I mean I still cannot access any of the sites. It is annoying as I cannot update Windows Black 2009. I use FIREFOX. I tried IE, opera, Chrome, safari... Cleared cache, temp files, registry values... did everything possible. can u tell me what is a DSN error?

Well for one thing, get a legal copy of windows
