I also have this address bar problem with my normal "Windows Explorer, MyComputer, etc." windows.
I also have a problem with my winrar files. They are all corrupt, no matter what I do. I reinstalled it and am still getting the same problem.
I also have a problem with changing my background. I did what you said to do in the post, and it brought back the tabs, but I can't click on the list of pics. And when I went into the Regedit, the file that was there for my wallpaper does not exist on this computer (C:/wb.bmp). I've run PestPatrol, CleanMyPC Registry Cleaner, and Norton System Scan and found nothing. PLEASE HELP ME!
