I have a virus that doesnt allow me to access the internet, start any programs (gives me a windows security alert and says the application cannot be executed) and wants me to activate its antivirus software. It gives me a antivirus software alert that blocks my taskbar and says "Infiltration alert" Your computer is being attacked by an internet virus.............. I cannot start the computer in safe mode because it just shuts off and restarts in normal mode. I cannnot get onto the internet on that computer. I was able to stop it for a while and download ESET NOD32 which finds a few infiltrations. It is really slow doing it's scan and if and when I reboot it does it again. I am on a different computer and do not think I can post a logfile from that computer. I have read some other threads and it looks the same as the winbluesoft virus.

The symptoms described by — persistent, fake "Windows Security" alerts that block program execution and web access, plus an autorun-style process living under the profile's Application Data folder noted by — match the typical rogue‑antivirus pattern. Those families install a user‑mode process for persistence, intercept browser traffic (often via a proxy), and prevent Safe Mode or normal removal. The HijackThis-style output already posted is useful context for responders.

Recommended next actions (practical, ordered approach):

  • Isolate the machine first: disconnect network cables and disable Wi‑Fi to stop data exfiltration and updates from the rogue software.
  • Use a clean computer to prepare offline recovery media (a bootable rescue disk or a portable antimalware package on USB). Boot the infected PC from that media and run a full offline scan — this avoids the running malware from protecting its files.
  • If the offline scan can’t remove everything, copy personal data (documents, photos) only — avoid executables — by mounting the drive from a clean environment (live USB) and save to external media. A full OS reinstall is the reliable cure if persistence components remain.
  • If Task Manager is usable, terminating the suspicious profile‑level process and then removing its autorun entries (Run keys, scheduled tasks, and startup shortcuts) can allow scans to finish; registry edits carry risk, so back up the registry first. Check Internet Options -> Connections -> LAN Settings for an unexpected proxy and remove it if present.
  • After recovery, change all passwords that were used on the machine, run a full scan from a trusted AV on another device for any credentials that might have been captured, and monitor financial accounts.

Cautions: rogue cleaners and random "fix" utilities can make things worse — stick to well‑known rescue tools or seek experienced help. When persistence is deep or sensitive accounts were used on the PC, a clean reinstall from trusted media is the safest outcome.
