Hi,

My Internet Explorer opens for no reason and it's driving me crazy. I know what happened too. My girlfriend installed something from the Internet and then it started. She said that when she installed it nothing really installed so I am guessing it installed some malware. Its all ads that are in the Explorer windows.

I ran Hijackthis and here is the log file. Thanks so much for the help!

Yes, you system IS infected. Infected files show in the log and you can blame your girlfriend In PART, however, you have no anti-virus program running on the computer. Your logs show McAfee is "there" somewhere but it isn't running. I am "guessing" that this is the customary "free trial" that often comes with new computers, however this is only good for a few months and must be purchased in order to retain protection, so you are at fault also.

Please follow the steps given on our Read Me sticky. Post back with all the requested logs and we an then better determine what other steps need to be run.
