Download HijackThis and unzip it to dedicated folder (like C:\HijackThisFolder\hijackthis.exe).
Then run it and click the button Do a System scan and save log file. HijackThis will perform a scan and saves the log file as hijackthis.log in the same folder where it is installed and it also opens the file automatically. Copy the entire contents of the file and post it here.

Which Operating System you are using? (If its Windows XP, do you have Service Pack 2 (SP2)?).
Do you have any Antivirus, Antispyware software? If yes, then please perform a scan using them in Safe Mode. (To go into Safe Mode, restart (or switch ON) the PC. Then, keep tapping the F8 Key. From the menu that will be displayed, choose Safe Mode and press Enter).
Also, do you get any error when try to open a website in the browser?

have you tried looking at this site and follow the procedures: tagasaurus removal
Thanks for the advice, but what I eventually ended up doing was purchasing an external 250 GB USB Drive, backed up my important files, and just formatted and reinstalled XP.
