I'm sure that tons of people have posted about this, but the logs are different from mine, so I figured I'd give mine a go to see if any of you can fix it.

Sorry, this won't help too much:

You have some pretty old malware on your computer. This is no surprise, since your XP is badly out of date (SP1) and hence vulnerable to numerous exploits. In the age of so-called "zero-day-exploits", patching Windows on every patch day is essential. Really.

You have signs of these infections:
"C:\Windows\xpupdate.exe"
http://www.sophos.com/virusinfo/analyses/w32rbotqe.html
(This is why I write here: You might want to change passwords and secure other personal data that has possibly been stolen. This is a trojan with some bells and whistles)

"C:\WINDOWS\System32\kernels8.exe" is (probably) this buddy:
http://www.sophos.com/virusinfo/analyses/trojvixupbn.html

and the LSP entries show this:
http://www.castlecops.com/lsp-43.html
(rogue antispyware)

(Sorry, I'm no malware removal expert, I'm just sharpening my senses to detect them. But that old stuff should be known by any decent antivirus software. )
