Short expert summary tied to the replies: the RUNDLL popup for bridge.dll is a very common leftover from adware (bridge.dll has been distributed with WinFavorites / Flingstone). Scanners will often delete the file but leave the RunDLL / startup value, so Windows keeps trying to call a now-missing DLL. The “non-cleanable” hits in C:\System Volume Information mean infected restore points are present — those copies are protected by System Restore and must be cleared before removals will stick. This matches the cleanup path started by and . (2-spyware.com)

Practical, low‑risk sequence to finish the job (do these in order):

  1. Backup important data and export the registry branches you’ll touch (HKLM/HKCU Run keys).
  2. Run Autoruns as administrator, search for any entries that reference bridge.dll or rundll32, uncheck to disable, use “Jump to Entry” to see the exact registry key — don’t delete blindly.
  3. Clear the infected restore points: either use Disk Cleanup → More Options → Clean up (System Restore) or temporarily turn off System Restore, reboot, then run full on‑demand scanners (AdwCleaner / Malwarebytes and a second‑opinion scanner) in Safe Mode or run a boot‑time scan. Quarantine/delete what those reputable tools find.
  4. Re-enable System Restore and create a fresh restore point once the system is clean. (learn.microsoft.com)

HijackThis note and cautions: if the HJT log shows an O4 RunDLL line calling bridge.dll, disabling that startup item in Autoruns first is safest, then remove it (HijackThis “Fix checked” or delete the registry value). Do not download a replacement bridge.dll from DLL repositories — that often re‑installs the adware. If rootkit behavior is suspected, follow with an offline/rootkit scan. (daniweb.com)

The disable‑clear‑scan‑reenable cycle reliably removes bridge.dll RUNDLL errors and the restore‑point copies that let infections return; once finished, re-run Autoruns/HijackThis to confirm no orphaned RunDLL entries remain. (bleepingcomputer.com)

Yes, that's exactly what I meant- thanks for understanding. :)

I've got to log off, but hang tight- I'm sure one of our HJT experts will come along soon to help you out.

Close all (browser) windows & rescan with hijackthis. When the scan is finished place a check in the box to the left of the following entries=

Go here for an on-line scan & set it to autoclean for you.

Please post another log after the scan & a reboot & let us know if your problem has gone.

Ok I have checked the ones you said to on hijack, then I did a virus scan with the scan you said. That founf 14 viruses that are "Non Cleanable" they are all located in C:/Sysytem Volume Information. Thats all i can see on the scan. What do I do now?

This is the new scan:

Disable system restore as instructed & set a new restore point. Note that all previous restore points will be lost.

Have another online scan.
