Bridge.dll Help!

I keep getting the error "BRIDGE.DLL missing from the system file."

I ran HijackThis, and this is what I got.

Xfire puts all those entries in the 010's that's all. Wanted to make sure you still had it installed.
When you installed messenger plus, did you install everything including the sponsor? If you did, uninstall it then reinstall it again but choose not to install the third party stuff as it comes from Lop, a nasty.

Scan with HJT again after a reboot & make sure that bridge entry has gone. If it's still there fix it again with HJT then reboot into safe mode & navigate to it & delete it manually.

Yeah, When I installed Messenger Plus I wasn't thinking and selected 'Auto Install.' Was too lazy to fix it at that time though. Thanks btw.

Bridge.dll is an adware program that stealth-downloads and runs on system startup. It acts as a search page hijacker taking you to one of four possible servers. This may be a variant of SearchBarCash.

There is a simple solution for this. this is for most windows programs that allow access to msconfig.

to get rid of the bridge.dll popup,,,, you need to left click on start(bottem left corner of screen),, and then left click on run.

in the box that comes up,,, type in msconfig and then click on ok.

In the new window that comes up,, go to the top right and click on the tab labeled "Startup".

you will see a list of items that have a box that can be checked to the left of each one with green checks in them.

find the one with bridge in the text line and uncheck that box.

click apply towards the bottem of the window

click restart when prompted.

when computer restarts a box will popup saying you have used the system config utility,blah,blah,blah click the box that says dont show this again,,, and then click ok. Problem gone

you can also uncheck other boxes if you dont want certain things to start up when you reboot. Investagate what your uncheking first!! How? do a google search with the key words of the text line,,,, that will usually lead you to information pertaining to that function
