Hello,
I am new to this forum & I actually found your site through doing a search on google on this thread: http://www.daniweb.com/techtalkforums/showthread.php?t=5212&page=1&pp=15

I am having similar problems. A few websites are giving me the cannot display page with the "Cannot find server or DNS ErrorInternet Explorer"
Not all sites does this. However, I have a website & have had it quite some time now & it's not viewable either, which I am told by others can view it.

I read up on the thread above & I have done various things. I have ran the CWS Shredder & it came up clean, I have ran Spybot & it detected and fixed a few problems, and Adware came up clean, and I ran my AVG and it found no viruses, I had even uninstalled firewall and it done nothing. Last thing I done was run Hijack This and here is my results:

Also I must say that I had the Netsky & Bagel Worm detected in my emails, which I never opened attachments to, but decided that I needed to go ahead and reformat, which I did. After reformatting, my website and others were viewable until 2 days ago. Also, about a couple of weeks or so ago, I was having a problem with the certificate of B2L Community This is where my site is hosted on, It was like that for a couple of days or so then it just disappeared.

Any help given on this would be greatly appreciated. And I am a beginner when it comes to messing with settings on my PC, and I have had no experience of registry as well.

PS I did not want to post this in the other thread in fear of confusing the situation since it is still not resolved.

Thank you for that courtney- much appreciated. :)

I'm moving this to our Security forum so that some of our more "malware-savy" members can have a look at your HJT log.

This is the only suspect entry in your log:
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [getuname] C:\WINDOWS\System32\getuname.exe

If you do not recognise it do the following:

Unzip HJT into it's own permanent folder before doing anything in order for it to create backups. (Not a temporary folder or the desktop & not directly on your hard drive). Close all (browser) windows & rescan with hijackthis. When the scan is finished place a check in the box to the left of the following entries & click 'fix checked' :

O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [getuname] C:\WINDOWS\System32\getuname.exe

Reboot into safe mode following the instructions here & navigate to & delete

C:\WINDOWS\System32\getuname.exe< file.

Reboot normally.
