Thanks for the help in advance. I have recently been having problems with my online accounts and passwords, slow pc, error reports, and just plain not running right. I am a proactive user when it comes to protection but I can't stop them all. Would someone look at these results i have cut a paste and tell me what I got. Again, thanks in advance. Z

The original HijackThis scan looks to have been mostly benign and the problem poster resolved their symptoms by reinstalling Windows. correctly pointed out that a stale browser helper object from an old AV/toolbar can remain as a registry entry even after its files are gone; that kind of orphaned entry can cause odd browser behaviour but is not the same as an active, file-backed infection.

If a leftover BHO or startup entry is found, back up the registry or create a restore point first, then remove the persistence safely rather than deleting random files. A reliable workflow is: examine startup items and BHOs with Autoruns, uncheck or delete the offending entry, reboot and re-scan. Autoruns makes it obvious which entries point to non-existent files and which are signed system components (useful on XP-era machines). See Autoruns for details: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/downloads/autoruns

If a DLL like the one mentions cannot be deleted, it is almost always locked by a running process or registered as a COM object/service. Boot to Safe Mode and use Process Explorer to “Find Handle or DLL” to see what holds the file; stop that service or process, then remove the registration and delete the file. If it is still locked, boot from rescue media or a Linux live CD and delete the file offline. After removal, run up-to-date on-demand scanners and a rootkit check, and verify there are no autorun/registry entries recreating it. Process Explorer is here: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/downloads/process-explorer

Final reminder: if account credentials were exposed, change passwords only from a known-clean device. If multiple system components are damaged or the machine was clearly compromised, a clean OS reinstall (with full updates and fresh credentials) is the fastest way to be certain the system is clean.
