Links in My Computer are not working. I open My Computer, then click on Control Panel, then when I click on any icon in Control Panel such as Add/Remove Programs the hour glass comes on but then nothing happens. The hour glass stays there forever. When I press Ctrl/Alt/Del, it brings up the Windows Task Manager window showing as task My Computer and status is Not Responding.
Why isn't My Computer responding? This is a computer i built that has an Asus A7V600 motherboard, an AMD 2800+ CPU, Windows XP Pro operating system, a LiteOn DVD rewriteable drive, a 120 GB WD hard drive, 512 MB of Kingston memory.
Can anyone help me with this?

I don't know what a hijackthis log is but I ran a virus scan and detected no viruses.

goto that link hit download save it then open up the file hit scan then save log and save as .txt file and open it and copy what the document says to this post.
