I'm setting up Linux with Samba on a small LAN for a friend. I got everything working except on the Windows computers I can't go to the files under a shared folder (shared on the Samba computer), I can view the Samba shares from the Windows computers but just cant see the files within the share. It actually gives an error saying something like 'the network resource does not exist'?

I had a similar problem. As it turned out
1. The firewall in the linux machine was blocking the samba service - stopped me from browsing the linux computer
2. This Security Enhanced Linux ( SE Linux ) thinga ma gingy which is in Fedora 5, was blocking samba - stopped me from browsing the shared folder after above 1 was fixed

After fixing the above settings to give permission for Samba, it worked. Maybe you should give it a try.
