Hey guys..

I just got a brand spankin' new Mac OS X Laptop for my graduation this weekend, but I am running into some trouble. I tried looking over the internet for solutions, and me and my brother tried figuring it out.. but I keep running into the same problem.

We have a PC Desktop in my room which I have been using the last so-and-so years. I have all of my music files, pic files, and vid files on there. So, my brother just bought me a NetGear wireless router so that we can share the networks together. I figured easily enough.. so I decided to send all my files that I was eager to transfer into my "Shared Folder" on the Dell Desktop. We ran a ping to see if the network was being found on the laptop, but it wasn't showing up. However, I have Trend Micro on my desktop, so we uninstalled that and the ping finally showed up. The next thing we decided to do was simply just access my shared network on this OS X. So, I went into the "familypc" network, and it wouldn't connect. I clicked "Connect As" to the right, and it asked me for my username and password. Well, at the time I didn't have a password. So I figured the solution was to create one. I did that, rebooted both computers, and still no go. For some reason it will not let me access my shared network even though I am giving them the correct information for the computer. I wasn't sure if they wanted the username and password for this laptop, but it doesn't matter because they are the same for both computers. This is really frustrating because I need to share the music files so I can listen to them on my laptop. I really do not feel like purchasing a USB Drive unless it is a last resort.

Any ideas or thoughts that can help?

I'd greatly appreciate it.
