I burned a CD on windows Vista with files/programs I need on a mac laptop, but when I insert the CD, nothing happens. I was told that an icon is supposed to come up on the desktop, but none do. I am extremely new to mac (got it 1 day ago). Is there any way to explore the contents of the CD?

PS the same thing happens with flash drives.

Can you mount any CD or DVD?
You may have a bad disk.
