Something happen to my Computer.

When I turn it on and ME is finished loading. I get only a few Icon on the desktop and my start bar doesn't work. It stays pressed down. and when I try to open a file from the icons that are on the desktop I get a messages saying "current security senttings won't allow ActiveX" ..I don't know much about computers so any simple solution terms would be helpful before I bring it to someone who clicks a couple of buttons and charges me an arm and a leg. I am useing an old HP VECTRA VL if that means anything. With Windows ME

This may be related to security settings in Internet Explorer.
Check settings and set to medium if set to another.
Tools/internet options/security
Remember this will reduce the level of security on your PC but medium should be OK.
