I'm looking for a simple database-server maintenance and management software.
It need not to be free but it must be known in the field of networking.

This depends on alot.

Most DB apps will come with some sort of management. I.e. MS Sql comes with its SQL mgmt studio.

What DB are you using?
What OS is the host using?
What are you trying to 'manage'? Backups?

MySQL is a good choice for a low maintenance database that is widely supported, and free.

I agree with mySQL, it can also retrieve data faster than other DBs imo... and easy to use. Security-wise..idk but I think it's okay.
