pc shuts off after a few seconds

hi i took my gpu out of my pc to check it because i was gettin driver not responding pop ups, and when ive put it back in my pc comes on for 10 seconds then the power cuts, ive even tried without the graphic card an it still cuts so im confused

specs:
radeon hd 4870 x2
Gigabyte GA-MA790FXT-UD5P motherboard
4gb DDR 3
core i7 920ghz
600w power supply

i cant even get that far to check bios it just cuts off

i think it is then main power circut problem

change the circuit board..........

Check to make sure you are not causing a short somewhere on the board... a loose screw, ram not properly seated, etc...
