Practical next steps: sign in to your Autodesk Education account and check the product page for AutoCAD (the Education portal shows what is currently available). If you or an instructor have a subscription, sign in to your Autodesk Account (manage.autodesk.com) and look under All Products and Services — the product tile has a dropdown for available previous versions (Autodesk documents how to download versions up to three years back; versions 4–5 years back require using the Autodesk Assistant or contacting support). If the goal is to open or convert files for a short-term project, try Autodesk’s free viewers first: DWG TrueView lets you view and convert DWG files to different AutoCAD versions, and the AutoCAD Web/Viewer can open DWGs without installing legacy AutoCAD. A current student AutoCAD trial or Education copy can also "Save As" to older DWG formats in many cases, which is often faster than tracking down a decade-old installer. Do not use pirated/unknown archive sites to get AutoCAD installers — cracked copies are illegal and commonly carry malware or other risks. If suspected only trials are straightforward and suggested support, both points are useful: use official education/trial routes first and contact Autodesk Support or the Education Assistant if you need an old release or a legitimate download link. You can only download trials, AutoCad is not free software. Search on some archiving websites, perhaps the 2010 version is still available for (trial) download (although I doubt it).

contact autocad support. If they provide it to students at no cost, they will have the download details.
