The settings as you've given there, does just what it's suppose to do, it didn't start a commandline shell given the -N option ;) But it did authenticate, and the port forwarding is suppose to have been setup (those -L lines), else it should've given a authentication error. So now …

The question should be: What do you want to do/achieve inside those VMs? I recall DOSEMU that is also a VM, but just DOS type 16bit real mode stuff. VMWare, Virtualbox, qemu will run on just about anything 386 or better, however as mentioned before, it won't be that "fast" …
