Gateway laptop MT3705. Either battery or AC, XP or Vista works fine for days until I visit University of Phoenix website and login to Classroom- Materials - then LCD goes dark - can still see faint image of website with flashlight. Cannot recover from this except to hard boot.

could you have tripped the on/off switch for the NIC? Sometimes a real switch sometimes Fn and F3 or F? simultaneously. If it is the integrated 10/100 then try Realtek 8139 driver.

Depends on the key. Some are universal and will work with both 3.3 and 1.5v. But I would look up the specs of the card fully. The AGP 1.0 specification defined 1x and 2x speeds with the 3.3v keyed connector. The AGP 2.0 specification defined 1x, 2x and 4x speeds …

not for sure. you can check the end of the cable for good contact, but that's about all without replacing parts unless you have a factory manual. Have you checked that something isn't tripping the int/ext monitor function key? That some peice of food hasn't gotten behind the panel or …

if it gets a little less blurry when lowering the brightness way down... replace the monitor

use the LCD screen and set the resolution to 800x600 with refresh of 60. then try the old monitors. if that does not do it make sure you have it set for single gpu / output.
