Thank you, KHess, for this post. Mirrors my sentiments on the subject exactly. Of course, to the gaming subject, I often say "Isn't it sad that you are letting entertainment dictate your freedom?"

I'm not much of an Ubunter, but what about Wubi(http://wubi-installer.org)? That's less steps than listed above, free and not from Microsoft.

@Crash~Override: I've got my 65+ Mother-in-Law using Ubuntu and loving it. She says it is much easier to use than Vista was and does everything she needs it to. Check your facts, and get out of the 90s already.

Not to mention the question of user intent. I'd be willing to wager more Windows users (per capita) do not intend to be sending spam, but malware is sending it for them, without their knowledge, whereas the Linux users are more likely intentionally running those botnets.

Mark Cuban is weird. Maybe he should be considering ways to improve his team and not try to play in a field he knows little of.

Stallman limits the freedom of users too. Apparently distros like Debian aren't really "free" because they allow users the "option" (read as "freedom") to install "non-free" if they want to. To Stallman, a "free" OS would not give the users this "freedom". Antithetical.

He wants to have his cake and eat it too. He wants people to be able to find his content from Google, but then have to pay him to read it. And he wants Google to pay him for posting his headlines.

I think I read somewhere that Stallman uses gNewSense. I dunno if that's an attractant or a deterrent from one's choosing it, tho. ;)

My main concern is durability. Motorola has a history of highly durable phones (example, RAZR v3xx with a Titanium casing) these days where Sony Ericsson... not so much. Even the iPhone stands up to quite a high level of abuse. I know multiple people who have had to replace their …

Sort of akin to believing a politician is honest because they say they are. There is nothing stopping the dashboard from not showing things and making them seem ignorant of your information. However, Google does tend to have a much higher approval rating among customers than others.

I call BS. It's stupid to offer "free service" to "Joe and Mary User" unless "Joe and Mary User" are the people you'd be offering free service to ANYWAY (I.E. family/close friends). Charge "Joe and Mary" for your time, but there's the added benefit that you don't have to charge …
