I need help on how to show an image in a window using Windows API

I have no idea how to do it and MSDN.com doesn't give any straightforward explanation on how to.

Also, learning functions and such don't really help because I don't know how to use any specific functions regarding such a task and I'm basically clueless.

So how could I show an image or any thing in a window?

Scratch "any thing" because I can show text using TextOut but that's easier.

Good luck trying to learn the Win32 API using a resource like the MSDN. MSDN should never be used as a learning tool, only as a reference. If you want to learn the Win 32 API I would start off with this book:
