This link, http://www.exforsys.com/tutorials/vb.net-2005/creating-multiple-document-interface-mdi-applications.html, is very similar to the first one.
On amazon, http://www.amazon.co.uk/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?url=search-alias%3Dstripbooks&field-keywords=mdi+applications, the first result is for Sams Teach yourself VB 2010 in 24 hours, that has a section on MDI applications.
I cant really fint any free e-books that you can download.
