I thought this would be a great place to post this opportunity for someone to join my start-up which is developing revolutionary technologies. Currently, we're developing software which takes advantage of apple's new Lidar technology.

We are looking for a talented developer/ computer scientist to join our team for a percentage of the company to help us build the technology! You will join us as our sole developer and, if you wish to carry on, be included in future projects.

As we are a start-up, we are looking for someone who is enthusiastic, hardworking, and committed to spending hours on developing the technology; knowing it will pay off in the near future!

Required Skills: To join us on our road to multi-billionaire status, you will need to be an experienced user of apple’s SDK and, if possible, experienced in developing iOS apps. Being fluent in Python and PyTorch is also essential, and relevant experience using Lidar – whether it’s on the new iPad/ iPhone or not – would be preferable. In addition, experience in Artificial Intelligence and Computer Vision would be extremely helpful - especially for future projects.

Any further details about our project and future ambitions can be discussed in more detail if this opportunity is something of interest. (my email is: jack@roomfurnisher.com) Thanks!

This thread is looking for an early technical contributor, and is right to flag compensation clarity. Vague, equity-only offers rarely attract experienced engineers because people need to pay rent, buy gear, and validate that the business and founders are credible.

Practical offer structures that get candidates to say yes:

  • A short paid trial (fixed scope, fixed fee, 2–4 weeks) that proves fit without long commitments.
  • Contractor/milestone work with clear acceptance criteria and milestone payments, then a conversion plan to ownership if both sides want that.
  • Part-time paid engagement plus an ownership stake, with explicit milestones for scope and timing.
Each option should show what the candidate gets now (cash, reimbursements, hardware/cloud credits) and what they could get later (ownership, roles).

Contract and governance basics to prepare before recruiting:

  • Put ownership on a vesting schedule (common practice is multi-year vesting with an initial cliff) and write it into a simple term sheet.
  • Include IP assignment, confidentiality, and a buyback/right-of-first-refusal clause for early exits.
  • Prepare a simple cap table scenario to show dilution over funding rounds.
  • Use a short, clear written agreement for any paid trial. Consult a lawyer for final documents.

Vetting and onboarding workflow:

  1. Publish a concise role description with expected weekly hours and deliverables.
  2. Screen for shipped work, code samples, or public repos and references.
  3. Run a paid, scoped technical trial with objective acceptance criteria.
  4. If accepted, sign the vesting/engagement paperwork and define 30/60/90-day milestones, repo access, CI, and test devices or reimbursements.

For , the single most effective change is to state precise compensation, time expectations, and a written path from trial to equity or employment. For everyone, keep paperwork simple, transparent, and signed before meaningful work begins.

I see you on the web. Example: https://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:46SRQ8EEtKYJ:https://www.roomfurnisher.com/what-we-are-doing+&cd=4&hl=en&ct=clnk&gl=us&client=opera

App developers here seem to be plentiful. I worry here that you are proposing no pay during development. Folk have to eat, pay rent and buy their Apple gear to work on projects. Maybe if you were clearer about ongoing compensation you'd get more interest.
