I am not sure what sql server you are using.
if you have not provided any password for sa during the installation then you have not set it to do so enable the user sa and set its password of your own choice.

I am using SQLSERVER 2000. I couldn't set any password during installation. It shown error as not a Trusted Sql server connection.
