you are planning to install php in windows or linux or mac ?
For windows
you can try wamp just download and install it
link
www.wampserver.com/en
For link
install tasksel by this command
sudo apt-get install tasksel
then install lamp-server
sudo tasksel install lamp-server
then install phpmyadmin
sudo apt-get install phpmyadmin
while during this installation it will prompt to select apache or lighthttp
select apache2
and prompt for the password .. select your password of your own. and retype it
for machintosh
your can use mamp just like it for more info
