I'm taking a website development course and we are supposed to be using HTML5 and CSS3. In my textbook it says that the <div> tag is HTML 4.01 and that in HTML5 it has been replaced with the <section> tag. I know with the <div> tag you can specify whether it is the main, left, or right area, but does that also work with the <section> tag? For instance, my assignment is having me create a web form, and I want to have a small area on the left that is just text, then I want my web form to …

StringBuffer sb = new StringBuffer(new String("Hello")); //Case 1 StringBuffer sb1; //Case 2 String s = new String("Hello"); // Case 2 sb1=s; //Case 2 StringBuffer sb3; //Case 3 sb3 = new String("Hello");//Case 3 Case 1 compiles fine and outputs *Hello* but Case 2 and Case 3 gives compiler error saying incompatible types. Why is it so?

Hi there, I'm having trouble getting a rotating image script working on a site. Unfortunately it's not displaying correctly in Firefox or IE9 and I need some help to fix that and wondered if anyone would be kind enough to help please? It seems to get stuck on the Sharpie animation (the second one in a sequence of 9) in IE and is jumpy throughout in Firefox, though it seems to be working fine in Opera and Chrome. From my limited knowledge - and it's limited - I think it has something to do with animated gifs not displaying correctly …

I have bought a lot of desktops and was looking around different sites for some of the computers. I came across http://www.andovercg.com/datasheets/dell-dimension-2400-series.pdfand it has a picture (on page 51) and shows the ram slots but says DDR / DDR2, as if it were backward compatible? I know the 2 are not suppose to be in any way compatible or are there some types that are (this doesn't make sense to me as the voltage spike). Or is this an error? The ram that was in it is a kt3g830-sa (512MB 168p PC133). But honestly I have not even tried to …

I've decided to build a new PC, instead of just buying a pre-built. I'm in the process of doing some research to make sure I do it right...the first time. From what I've read so far, it seems to be that the motherboard is the most important decision to make...and to make first. I'm still going to do some more Googling (because I haven't been able to find a good explanation yet) but came across Daniweb, which looks to be a good resource for this question, which is: [B]

Are there different types of motherboards (not just namebrands...but specs, etc.)? …

Thanks! Omar

Can't decide whether to develop for Android, BlackBerry, iPhone, or Symbian? You may not have to, if the latest "write once, run anywhere" claim from Recursion Software bears fruit. The company today unveiled Voyager 7.2 Pervasive Software Platform, and says that developers can use the tool to target those platforms as well as Windows Mobile and LiMo and Maemo Linux-based devices with a single code base. Apps built with the platform can execute on smartphones, netbooks and PCs and share contacts and other personal information, location data and media files," the company said, opening the door to simpler collaboration, data …
