Hello friends, I am having a HCL PC in my home with configuration of 120GB HDD, basic graphics memory, Core2Duo processor and with 1 gb of RAM. Now I am planning to do some upgrades to it. First of all, I am planning on DVD writer(already out). Then to the Graphics memory of 1 GB.(I am a Gamerguy:-P). Then to RAM of 2GB(for the support of game purpose). Friends, I want some suggestions from you, regarding what brand I should go for and which is best. Can the geeks in this forum help me? Thanks in advance...:-D

We have here at our home my wife's work computer. While not today's hottest iron, it is still Centrino Duo machine, runningn WinXP Professional with 1 GB RAM. Our home machine is aged AMD Semptron 3100+ (1.81 GHz) and has 2 GB RAM running WindowsXP Home. While running my Mandelbrot program, that I have posted to Python forum (it has critical modules compiled with Shedskin compiler through C++), however our Sempron typically does 640x480 Mandelbrots with max 240 iterations in 0.5 seconds, while the Lexmark takes whole second. How can this newer laptop be so slow?

Hello, I have just bought a new NAS (http://www.amazon.co.uk/Netgear-RND2110-ReadyNAS-Duo-1000GB/dp/B0016KVW96) and set up two drives in it in RAID1. I connected the NAS via a gigabit connection but the transfer rate won't seem to budge over 30mb/s when reading and tends to get stuck at around 15mb/s when writing. The primary drive is a Seagate Barracuda which runs at 7200RPM, so I think that drive should be able to hit around double what I am getting at the moment; and the second drive is a Samsung EcoGreen F2 which according to these benchmarks should be performing quite well: http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/1.5tb-hdd-caviar,2331-6.html My question …
