Hello Daniweb Community, Lately we have been experiencing slow internet, now the thing is. In the house we have **12 devices** connected, then from the router it goes out to the bungalow which has around **5-7 devices**. The router we have in the house is a TP-Link Archer D50 and in the bungalow is a TP-Link Archer C2 and we have **ADSL2+** (on the [Optus](http://www.optus.com.au) network). The maxium speed we were told we're getting is around **6-7Mbps/Download** and around **500-600Kbps/Upload**. The other problem we are having is, my sister can't even get a good connection on her PS4 (can't even …

How I would catalog police video. Play it fast forward and record that (just like movie pirates do) then post the results on the net. 4 hours of video down to 15 minutes. After that do a complete archive where the video is shown at fast forward or slow motion with the important parts being played forward and backward a number of times along with some text comments as to the action. The whole privacy concerns are a pathetic attempt to derail video recordings. Everybody is sexting these days. The only ones to benefit from restricting video are the perpetrators. …

Hi So for months I haven't really used my laptop for this reason. When I switch my laptop on even if the wireless card I switched off the internet goes down around 0.3 Mbps (painfully slow) it's not just my laptop it's effecting but my phone is also effected by this speed. I use a BT home hub and they and it's been replaced and the engineers been out. So after a few months I'm a bit annoyed and decided to do something about it. So I backed up my files and restarted my computer Hoping it would work. However …

Okay so here it is. The code below is my player counter for a game called Minecraft. It connects to a server and brings back 2 values. 1) The number of current online players and 2) the maximum number of player slots. Then it stores these two variables in to SQL against the server so that I may use them anywhere on the website like: 'Player: 40/100'. Now the problem is that it takes far too long for one server to reply that it drops out. 8 - 10 servers are updated but the rest are left. What would be …

Okay, so I'm working on this system for a friend of the family. There were ALOT of things wrong with this... but that's besides the point. Basically, I'm trying to figure out why it's running so slow. I've completely disassebled everything in the system, cleaned, dusted, reapplied thermal compound to every heat sink, etc... and completely wiped the hard drive to get ready for a clean install of 7. BUT... when I boot from the installation media (either through DVD or USB), it takes WAY longer than I've ever seen ANY system to even boot into the install screen. It's …

Hello: I have an older Dell desktop that is running Windows XP. All of a sudden, I keep getting messages that my "virtual" memory is being used up, and to shut down and restart. It seems to freeze everytime I try to do something on it. I run AVG free on it. I have also run Malaware Bytes Malware on it, along with Spybot and Ad-Aware. It even seems to freeze when I try to do a defrag. Is this computer on it's way out? Thank you!

Hi! I'm using Snow Leo with iMac, and it's continuously getting slower and slower to startup. It's 35 sec (without weird HDD) at fresh install or after clearing PRAM. After 3 days now it's 50-60 sec. Last time before I've found out the PRAM trick, it was 90-120 sec. Also there is a weird HDD scrawling at startup I don't know what. The 1st time refers to the desktop showing up with the menus, and the 2nd time is the actual startup finish, when the HDD stops scrawling, and finally I can open a google page. Also when I clear …

Not sure if it's a spyware/malware problem, but typing in any field on a web page using Internet Explorer 9 is unbearably slow. I type in a single letter and can wait up to 30 seconds for it to appear on the screen. I suspect a keylogger or something, but it could just be an IE issue that can be cleared up. When I run the same pages in Firefox, I have no problems typing. A log of my HijackThis scan is below: Anyone else have this problem or can help me? Hi All, having an issue new to me. I have an eMachine with an AMD Atholon II motherboard. The Issue: When I start or restart the machine it takes forever to get thru the bios. If I select to go into setup it again takes forever and once in, it is a arrow down, go get a pizza, arrow down, Eat the pizza, enter to select, go take a shower...etc. You get the idea. Now once the machine fully loads (about 30 mins), Win7 flies, no issues. Works great. I have tried removing the battery for 15 mins and restarting, …

Hey everyone! It has been a very long time since I posted, but I have a new question for you guys. So, I made a sort of "remote-desktop" program that allows me to move the mouse from another computer. However, the mouse will move to where I want it but it will either be really choppy or just loose the connection. Here is how it works, so you guys can poke and prod at it. Hi, I'm running two 1 TB Western Digital drives, and in Windows 7, the secondary one is slow to access. I have it mounted as M:, and Windows Explorer shows a green progress bar at the top when it loads the root directory. Here's the weird part. It's VERY fast for any subdirectories. If I enter a large subdirectory, I can go into all the directories inside it very quickly, and files load quickly. But, if I navigate backwards to the root, there's a delay before it shows up again. I have Windows set to index the entire partition. There's …
