Okay, I have been thinking about writing a GUI toolkit recently, and after doing some searching on the web, I haven't found much on it it's self. But I believe I have the basic idea down, and I was wondering if you guys who maybe know about this could let me know if I am doing this right before I start with loads of work. The way I think it's done is: - Write the code that displays the GUI ( Window, Button etc ) and put it in functions. - Give the programmer access to the functions. Sounds very …

I wanted to install a GUI toolkit for python and pyqt looked good but when I install the complete binary on the pyqt site and run designer, I get this error when I try to go to the code Anyone know how to fix it? And if not, can I manually code with the pyqt gui toolkit? Using another purely textbased no gui code generating ide?

I am trying to create a random text generator and I am having a slight problem. Firstly, here is my code flow: Step-1)Enter a sentence as input -this is called trigger string, is assigned to a variable- 2)Get longest word in trigger string 3)Search all Project Gutenberg database for sentences that contain this word -regardless of uppercase lowercase- 4)Return the longest sentence that has the word I spoke about in step 3 5)Append the sentence in Step 1 and Step4 together …

I use python for various personal projects and hobby stuff. I do mostly command line stuff, just cuz I don't need the gui for a lot of it. I would like to start moving on to GUIs, but I have run into a problem. I started with Python v3. All the toolkits, WYSIWYG designers, etc are all for version 2. Is there a toolkit and (hopefully) a WYSIWYG designer for Python 3?
