If you were in charge of DaniWeb, what would you change? (I promise to not get defensive.)

The post title somewhere visible on the page when you scroll below the top... but I already asked for this. Drop-down menus under each item under FORUMS. Again, previously mentioned. Comment entry text box with more than one line. Mentioned. Search filters and sorting options. Also mentioned. lol Other than that, I think you've done a fantastic job with the layout and interface, including picking out menu icons, the popup tips on many pages, and the specialized A in DaniWeb branding. You've been at it for over 23 years. Do you have any screenshots of DaniWeb through the years? That would be interesting to see the changes over time.

Sorry, can you refresh my memory on this one? You can pass in the query strings ?user_id=, ?forum_id=, and ?cms= into search results pages to filter, but as of right now there is no front-end interface for these filters.

You can browse DaniWeb at all different moments in time from the Internet archive.

Haha, yeah. DaniWeb started as a website about my dogs when I was a young teenager. Then as traffic to the site grew, that’s when I first fell in love with website promotion and digital marketing and the industry that would become known as seo.

I just had a look at Daniweb from August 2010 when I first joined. Wow! What a difference 15 years makes.

In a good way or a bad way?

From time to time, I browse old snapshots of DaniWeb at different points in time to get ideas for things to improve. Sometimes we used to do things better than we currently do. (Isn't that true of pretty much all software updates?) For example, sometimes I put a lot of work into simplifying the UI, but in doing so, let go of old features or functionality that no one was really using at the time. Times change. There have been some things over the past 20+ years that were perhaps ahead of their time, and didn't work out so well then, but are better fits now. There are some things that I took for granted back then, and ultimately deprecated, but that make sense to bring back. I think 20+ years of DaniWeb is good inspiration. :)

Edit: It's interesting to see past links, buttons, etc., which gives you a sense of how the industry has changed.

@Dani - Much cleaner today than in 2010. I also find the interface for replying to threads much nicer here than on a few other forums I frequent.
