My name is Tom. I am retired and living in The Villages in Florida. My background is Legacy Mainframe administrative applications for Universities (Cobol, CICS). I have done a little C++ development on the Palm OS5 platform (Garmin iQue) for my own amusement, and I did have a primitive web page (Yahoo Sitebuilder) at one time that I used to distribute freeware for the Garmin iQue that I had developed.
Now I am interested in developing a web based application to manage the activities of a club here in The Villages. It would be used to maintain a membership list, event calendar, event registration, email notification, photo albums, announcements, club finances, etc. Also, I would like to be able to scale this up to handle multiple clubs in the future. I am looking for application development tools to simplify the design and implementation of such a system.
Anybody want to take some time to point me in the right direction.
