Hi I spent 15 years as an electronics engineer, 18 yeare as a small business electronics retailer, there I started writing software for my business. In 1985 I formed Hands On software systems. We develope POS software for retailers.
I have been using a Gateway 600 Ygr laptop for 3 years. Yesterday I tried to boot nothing!!!!! , fan comes on, no screen No command prompts on boot and The floppy and Cd would no turn. I think It is the mother board, PS area. One of the heat sink posts came off MB. Intel chip Looks very black. Would a bad Cpu scvrew up the Ps, or is it a Ps regulator ???? Any ideas
