hi everyone..mike, here..retired schoolteacher from the bronx, nyc. my fairly new hp/compaq just all of a sudden decided not to go beyond the original compaq screen when powered on. though the screen tells you what to press to restore or start in this or that mode, it will not respond to keyboard or recovery disk i inserted into the cd drive. it just stares at me, totally nonresponsive to EVERYTHING!! any ideas??
