first of all, I'm sorry if by any chance I knocked on the wrong door here, cuz I don't see any region that is relevant to my following request ;)
Right now I'm running short of disk space...So as a film collector hence maniac one, first thing I have to do is compressing my video without losing much of quality.
I've experienced watching a .mkv or so called mkv-x264. It has a excellent quality with noticeable less of size. With size of 300++Megabyte instead of 700Mb in xvid quality. Well, it's only 300MB of difference if we're comparing a single video. But to collection with a size of 1.5TB, it's gonna be pretty noticeable :-O . Imagine that we can save up to 50% disk space (what am I doing? selling something? pardon me :yawn: )
Anyway, I've tried to convert some of my vids with mkvtoolnik (the one which come up after some googling). But I can't get it recompressed. It's change only the codec and extension. Please help :sad:
