I have read around that search engines today can index long urls. But there are others who say long urls having more than three url params are not cached or cached with difficulty. Can any one throw some good light over this matter?

That would mean some thing like site.com/keyword1/keyword2/keyword3/ or site.com?keyword=keywordone-keyword2-keyword3 will be accepted but site.com?k1=keyword1&key2=keyword2&key3=keyword3 wont be accepted.

Dynamic pages mostly have to be handled this way.
One option to get round this problem is mod rewrite in linux. Amazon is doing it for its dynamic pages.

Can any one confirm what is the threshold in no of url params?
