A short, practical primer to complement the thread: think less in terms of single vendors and more in terms of monetization channels and how you manage them. Direct-sold sponsorships, performance/affiliate deals, programmatic/private deals, native/sponsored content and owned revenue (subscriptions/products) each behave differently — direct buys usually pay best but need sales work, performance pays on conversions, programmatic fills remnant inventory fast. Since is centralizing delivery with an ad manager, segment inventory into clear zones (hero, in-article, sidebar, mobile) so each channel can be tested against the same placement.

When you onboard a new source, follow a short vet-and-test routine: check creative quality and allowed categories, confirm targeting (geo/device), require a sample report or transparency on traffic, set a floor or rate type, and schedule a short live test. Track these KPIs: eCPM (or RPM), fill rate, CTR, viewability, and conversions. Quick RPM check: RPM = (earnings / pageviews) * 1000. Compare a 3–7 day test period against baseline before scaling.

Real, repeatable optimizations: prefer responsive units and lazy-load below-the-fold ads; limit the number of ad units that compete aggressively in one viewport; compress/limit rich media that hurts page speed; enforce creative specs and an approval step if banner quality is poor (as found). Use passback chains or a fallback to avoid lost impressions, and apply simple frequency caps to protect UX.

A tiny onboarding checklist to copy:

  • Vet partner and request sample reporting.
  • Tag, target, and set floor/passback rules.
  • Run a 72–168 hour live test and compare RPM/eCPM.
  • Negotiate terms or pause/replace based on results.

Start with one new channel at a time, measure, then scale.

I use AdSense, Tribal Fusion, and Rydium :) I have also tried Burst!, ValueClick, and FastClick, but I wasn't happy with the quality of the banners. I am considering MaxOnline.
